Contrary to what you may suspect, Oktoberfest is traditionally held in September. In Munich the celebration starts on September 16 and lasts for two weeks. Here in Greenville, SC, you can find many different breweries and nearby communities holding their own festivals.
But they are scattered throughout September and October. Which is why I’ve made this list to help you find all of the Oktoberfests in Greenville.
What is Oktoberfest? It’s an annual Bavarian holiday celebrating German culture, food, and beer. At celebrations here in the US you can expect to find traditional German music, traditional German outfits, dancing, lots of delicious food (like sausages and pretzels), and, of course, lots of beer (Märzen is the traditional Oktoberfest lager).
And I always try to hit up a couple different Oktoberfest in Greenville. With them scattered, it’s easy to hit up a couple!
