Bustling main street, seaside location, epic mountains, and scenic lakes? Welcome to Bar Harbor. I’ve already gushed a plenty about my family’s new vacation spot. But I wanted a place to showcase its beauty exclusively. So I put together this, my favorite photos of Bar Harbor.
Bar Harbor always surprises me with its beauty whenever I make it back to there. Want the most epic views? Cadillac Mountain has you covered. A hike that will leave you breathless in more ways than one? Check out the Beehive. In fact Bar Harbor’s status as the gateway to Acadia National Park might be one of the main reasons I love it.
Acadia National Park is my favorite national park on this side of the country. And there’s plenty to do there.
If these photos don’t tempt you to visit Bar Harbor…I’m not sure what will. (But here’s another reason just in case.)

What are the places I’ll return to? This is a question I ask myself a lot. Of course I would like to go back to many of the places I’ve been to. But I also want to go to many more new ones. But there’s one thing I know.
This is not the end for Bar Harbor.
Some places stick with you (and your family). My Mom loves Bar Harbor. Our family has visited a couple of times already and has another visit currently in the works. But what is it about Bar Harbor? In the end it’s everything. For her it’s the lobster, the town, the shops, the cooler weather, the seaside location, the slower pace, the beauty, the popovers, and the relaxation. For me it’s all of that but also more: the hiking, the biking, the rock-climbing, the views, the exploring, and the blueberry beer.
She often talks about buying a home there (or really anywhere on Mount Desert Island). And whether or not this happens, I know she’ll be back.
And I’ll meet her there whenever she needs the company.
